Cultural depictions of rabbits are vast and well-known. None is more well-known, however, than the White Rabbit from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. A symbol of curiosity, Alice cannot help but follow that rabbit down the rabbit hole, finding herself situated in an extraordinary world.
Following that rabbit meant following a dream, a fantasy.
Fans of Jefferson Airplane or The Matrix might have different interpretations of what the White Rabbit represents, but it’s widely agreed that the White Rabbit symbolises the quest for truth; that pursuing the mystery of the White Rabbit leads one to an impossible land that challenges one’s beliefs and, maybe, changes one’s life.
Red is a paradoxical colour. Its uses are found in the positive as well as the negative. Love, joy, passion, and desire on one side, danger and aggression on the other. Red is known to speed up our heart rate and increase our blood flow. Red is physical. Red is never boring.
Red is the colour of heightened emotion.
This makes the Red Rabbit a bit different. The Red is curiouser and more unknown that its White brother. It is bold and self-assured, yet playful and enchanting. It does not try to hide away, for it is confident in its ability to delight and amuse.
Red Rabbit Cabaret aims to delight and amuse.
In actual fact, it took quite some time to land on the ‘Red Rabbit’ name as I started out with a long list of potential names that I was slowly reducing down over the course of about a week.

The name had to consist of 3 words: the 1st word being either the colour red, black, or white; the 2nd word being a noun; and the 3rd word being ‘cabaret’. The only exception to this rule was the name ‘Rabbit Hole Cabaret’ - a name certainly pertinent to the vision, but in truth it was because I had been listening to a lot of CamelPhat at the time. Eventually the name ‘Red Rabbit Cabaret’ won out and we had the name of our company.
The Red Rabbit and I also happen to share the same initials.
